Program Description:
VideoTrak™ is a Windows database application for movies,
specials, TV programs, home videos, or anything stored on DVD, video tape,
video CD, and more. The user interface has been designed to be simple but
functional... not overly "bloated" with superfluous detail fields
that are useful and meaningful only to a professional tape/film librarian.
A summary of the main features includes:
An unlimited number of Video Titles may be stored in
each VideoTrak file, dependent only on your available hard drive space.
You can enter as much or as little additional detail as you want regarding
stars/cast, storage location of the Volume (tape, DVD, etc.), and descriptive
notes.
When adding or editing records you can easily search the Internet Movie
Database (with the click of a button) for accurate information
pertaining to your current Video Title.
You can 'customize' the master lists for Genre, Locations, Media Types, and Video Types
used by the program to suit your needs and the contents of your personal library.
You can easily create multiple data files and switch between between them
without closing the program.
The program's Browse Records grid displays all (or a currently selected
subset) of the Video Titles in an easy to read and navigate table. The grid's
records can be sorted by any of its fields and the full "detail" for a
currently selected (highlighted) record is shown below the grid.
New Video Titles can be added to the file individually or by adding an
entire Volume (tape, DVD, etc.) all at once.
Likewise, you can delete individual Video Titles one at a time or remove
an entire Volume (and all of its Titles) at once.
Reports include Full Listing by Video Title, Full Listing by
Star(s), Full Listing by Volume Number, List of Titles for an
Individual Star, The Currently displayed Records Grid, along with
the ability to design (and optionally save) your own custom report.
Full print preview
with three report styles, user-selectable fonts, and
user-selectable paper sizes.
Instant Reports can be quickly generated by clicking any 'link' shown
in the data fields of the Record Detail section on the main data form.
To help you review the various features/functions of
the program a Sample data file is included.
Context-sensitive online Help is always available.

New/improved features in version 2:
· The data file 'format' has been expanded & restructured to incorporate program changes and improvements requested by our existing users. (A File Conversion Utility is included to convert your existing (version 1) data to the new file structure.)
· The database 'engine' used by version 2 is now SQLite3, a very efficient and fast database that produces significantly smaller data files
· The user interface has been greatly improved to provide faster navigation of the program's data and functions, along with the incorporation of a new Instant Report feature accessible from the Record Detail section of the main data form.
· Five new data fields have been added for each record, as requested by several of our v1 users: Year, Run Time, Plot Synopsis, Video Type, and Volume Title.
· The Saved Lists (used for Genre, Locations, Media Types, and Video Types) are now maintained in your VideoTrk.ini file, making these 'master' lists available to all your data files.
· The Export Data... function has been improved to allow you to export not only the Browse Records grid data (as in v1) but also ALL RECORDS in the current data file with ALL data fields (including Plot Synopsis, Special Features/Notes, etc. --- the fields that do NOT appear in the grid).
· Your Custom Report designs can now be saved to disk and retrieved at a future time to quickly reproduce often used layouts.
· A new Batch Find and Replace function has been added to version 2 which allows you to automatically 'clean' your Video Title field data (entries starting with 'The', 'A', or 'An' to correct sorting inconsistencies) -OR- search an individual data field for a word or phrase and correct all records found with the replacement data you specify.
